Circa 1969

Founded in the Netherlands in 1792, the Sikkens paint company is a name most people outside the collision repair industry would not be familiar with, but they are one of the oldest paint companies in the world. Around 1969, Sikkens expanded from the European market to the U.S. market. Company representatives showed up at U.S. body shops, not in business suits, nor in white lab coats, but in overalls. They rolled up their sleeves, and showed painters and body men how to use the Sikkens products. Today, Sikkens is a major supplier of automotive refinish paint in the U.S.
