In 1983, computers were still relatively new in the collision repair trade. A collision industry trade magazine reports: “Computers (in body shops) are becoming so important some experts predict that by the end of this decade, they will be a necessity for any collision repair shop that wants to remain competitive.” Another article notes, “Predictions are that in the next ten years, most businesses and even homes will be equipped with computer systems.”
