An editorial appearing in a collision industry trade magazine in the summer of 1982 asked shop owners to clean up their facility, make it look neat, clean and professional to attract walk-in customers. The article noted that many shop owners say that they have the best body men in town, the best painters, and the latest equipment and years of training and experience so it shouldn’t matter what the shop looks like. The editor’s reply to that then-common lament was, “That’s all very commendable, but how do your potential customers know all this?”  It would appear that today, in 2013, most shops heeded the editor’s words and indeed look very professional inside and out.
