Wiert Willemszoon Sikkens establishes a “paint works” in the Netherlands and in 1837, his son, Geert Willem Sikkens enhanced the business by establishing the G.W. Sikkens & Company paint works. Today, the Sikkens Company is one of the major suppliers of automotive refinish paint in the U.S. If you have ever been in an auto accident anywhere in the world, there is a good chance your car was painted with a product made by a company with a 220 year old history!
